A movement of faith-inspired action on the environment.
Faiths for Green Africa is a movement of faith-inspired action on the environment.
The Faiths for Green Africa website provides resources and information on faith-based conservation, with a particular focus on sub-Saharan Africa. Topics covered include sustainable land management, agriculture and environmental education.
Faith-based conservation agriculture and land management is given the title Faithful Farming, which includes both Christian and Muslim approaches. Environmental education, otherwise known as education for sustainable development, is the second area of focus and includes some work with water.
Faiths for Green Africa grew out of a project of the Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) from 2010-2015 working with faith groups in sub-Saharan Africa.
ARC is secular body that works with faith groups to develop environmental programmes based on their own core teachings, beliefs and practices.
