International workshop on faithful farming & sustainable land management, Uganda

Christian Farming: training of trainers, Tanzania
A two-day workshop took place in Moshi, in the shadow of the majestic Kilimanjaro. 30 participants attended the training, conducted by A Rocha Kenya in collaboration with the Network of Faiths on Environmental Action in Tanzania and Faiths for Green Africa.
Islamic Farming: training of trainers, Uganda
Working with A Rocha, UMYA and HEAR Uganda, ARC organised the training of 30 participants in Islamic Farming. In a similar vein to the training in Tanzania, the Ugandan participants have been encouraged to train their communities and start demonstration gardens.
Islamic Farming: launch, Kenya
Having completed the pilot training, Islamic Farming was formally launched at the Laico Regency Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. Dignitaries from the East African Islamic community as well as agricultural experts were invited to attend this prestigious launch.
Network launch, Tanzania
With the faith-based environmental networks already established in Kenya and Uganda, Tanzania soon followed with this official launch. NEFEAT, the Network of Faiths on Environment Action in Tanzania, was launched at the Lutheran Uhuru Hotel in Moshi.
Faith-based ESD workshop, Uganda
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) has been a core part of our work. In March, the ESD Toolkit was introduced to faith leaders and secular partners in Kampala, Uganda. More than 100 participants attended the two-day workshop.
Islamic Farming: pilot training, Kenya
Working with A Rocha Kenya, Global One 2015 and SUPKEM, Faiths for Green Africa piloted the new curriculum Islamic Farming. The training emphasises Islamic values applied to conservation agriculture. The 30 participants will test the material and train other farmers in their respective areas.
